2022 SSC Calendar of Events
We are putting together our 2022 Calendar of Events. Check back after membership vote on the final schedule!
Membership forms will be available at all SSC events, or may be printed from the website and brought on the day of the event.
Events listed are for SSC MEMBERS, unless otherwise noted.
Additional events of interest are Chino Valley Equestrian Park, AZ Driving and Carriage Society, American Driving Society and events at Santori Ranch. Events may be noted and information is available at their websites.
Don't forget to check back for any changes!
JANUARY
We will have our first Board Meeting which is organizational. Check back for upcoming events.
FEBRUARY
February 19th at the Whan's home.
We will hold our first Member Meeting, Meet, Greet and EAT! Bring your ideas for events and activities for the year. Some ideas talked about
have been tips for trick training, clinics - any we'd like to have? - guest speakers and special events. As if this was not enough
we are also having a tack swap/sale! Bring a side dish; SSC will provide sandwiches! Time TBD. Plan for the meeting!.

APRIL April 9th at the Whanderosa Ranch< >br>
Trick training at the Whan’s Whanderosa Ranch in Paulden. Video, demos, book work.. The Whan's have offered their minis to practice on, if you cannot bring one. Bring treaties for good minis, lunch and chairs - it's easier to sit when working with the wee ones. See "Show and Shine" in September Also, bring lunch, water, hats and suntan lotion to work on your tan!
MAY
May 14th
Our ever popular Meet-A-Mini! This year we will be at Olsen's, starting at 10:00. (Time may change, check back) Meet-A-Minis are about introducing our wonderful minis to the public, so bring your best ambassador(s)! Horses may be dressed up or not, as long as they are friendly and won't mind running kids. We also hold a bake-sale. If you would like to bring cookies, brownies - something you can bag together for a price, that is always welcome. For more info on this, contact Meg or Elaine.
JUNE
June 11th Fun Day at WhanderosaRanch
Not a member yet? Come out and join. Then play with Us!!
It's exactly what it says: A FUN DAY out with our minis! Games, and obstacles and an easy way to introduce everyone (4 and 2 legs alike)
to excursions, being with other horses and friendly folks. Games and obstacles, whether in hand.or driven, are awesome way to work
on the horses' confidence in a setting that is comfortable for them - with lots of fun and laughter for us. Bring lunch, water and chairs! Don't forget
suntan lotion :) We have a lot of fun at these events.If you are not a member, but wish to join, membership forms will be available at the event. By the way,
this is also a General Meeting, so be sure to join us!
JULY
July 9th at Elaine's Ranch Obstacles and Courses fun day.
If you enjoyed our Fun Days at the Whan's, come join us at Elaine's for a day out on her
ranch; directions will be flash mailed to members. If you are not a member, but wish to join, membership forms will be available at the event.

We haven't done this parade for a while, but we're back again! The CV parade is not as long
as the Prescott parade, so for a first parade, it's ideal. We dress up the horses if desired. Each horse needs a header
-the same person leading, but a separate person if driving. If you haven't been in a parade before, start early
with any "clothing" for the theme and get prepared for honking, sirens, applauding, and general silliness. Our first Show and Shine!We are hoping to have enough Trick Trainers to give them a chance to demonstrate their new found tricks!
There will be ribbons for the performers and treats. Bring a lunch, chair, water, hat, and lots of cheering etc.
NOVEMBER We know how busy November can be. Enjoy the month to do all those little things that get the
Hollidays started. DECEMBER Our horses are ambassadors to the miniature horse world - and are the stuffed Christmas pony incarnate! Do you have a horse who loves a crowd, bright city lights
(sort of)and doesn't mind a roaring fire engine, bands and all sorts of craziness? Do you like to dress up with your horse and cart?
Then come join us! Each year the theme changes, so dress up your horse and maybe even your cart and let's go!!

September 3rd Labor Day Chino Valley Territorial Days Parade.
More information - time and location of step off. theme, etc. - will be added here and in a flash mail.
In the interest of safety for all,non-members may JOIN at the parade BUT unless we know the mini is safe and sane in a parade situation, please
understand he/she may not be allowed to walk. Best suggestion is to join at an earlier event, so we get to know him/her.
